Romantic Casablanca – my 3rd Dreamtrip

Another 8 hours flight, we arrived at the Casablanca airport for the Morocco trip.  We found the operation director from dreamtrips holding the blue flag “you should be here” outside the waiting area, everyone felt relieved immediately.  We got on the bus and soon on the way to the Movenpick hotel located in the city center.

Not a doubt we had a great reception-  drinks and canapés, followed with gifts and welcome dinner. A few ladies worn beautiful Chinese Qipao and almost had a fashion show.

The 1st day.
We visited Hassan II Mosque, situated on a promontory on the Atlantic Ocean, it was designed by the French architect Michel Pinseau.  Here didn’t request so strict on what you wear as in Abu Dhabi, however, I still put the overall black outfit I bought. The mosque is the largest in North Africa and the third-largest in the world, with room for 25,000 worshippers inside, and a further 80,000 can be accommodated in the mosque’s courtyard.  Its minaret is the world’s tallest at 210 metres (690 feet).  We took some nice photos of the mosque and from afar.  Then we walked in the city, but honestly, not much to see.

Looking forward to the dinner in Nick’s café.  “Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine…” I believe everyone is familiar with the scripts in the famous movie “Casablanca” with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. It put the idea of this city in my memory from teenage years. Although I didn’t really imagine I would visit it some day, however I thought it as exotic and romantic place.  Oh well, the movie scene wasn’t really happened here, the café was actually built according to the movie. But hey, who cares? the most important thing was that you got the feeling.  The meal was great, the atmosphere was fantastic, we were happy.

The 2nd day.
The bus took us to Rabat, the cultural capital of Morocco, with visits to the Royal Palace (and Mechouar), Oudayas Kasbah, Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan Tower.  Great place for photos, that’ for sure. Thanks to one intelligent and beauty mum also travel with kids, took a few free-style shots of me. Lol, really love them!

The dinner was in another restaurant, with great food, a lot of food, we were all too full.  And yes enjoy the belly dancing.

The 3rd day.
We visited a bit El Jadida , then went to a quite luxury Mazagan Beach Resort for lunch then stayed on the beach for 2 hours.  We had another amazing dinner in a high end restaurant, just by the water.

The trip came to an end. many of the friends in this tour would continue with another dreamtrip to Marrakesh. By then I was totally regretted that I didn’t book that one as everything included looks so appealing. What I was thinking?  And due to the flight tickets to Belgrade, we changed the idea of leaving on Monday to Wednesday to save $200 per person.  So we decided to go to Marrakesh ourselves. To rent a car, hotel everything.
